DEA Takes Action on Potent Kratom-Derived Substances

Federal agencies are increasing oversight of certain highly concentrated kratom-derived products due to concerns about addiction, overdose, and public safety. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), in coordination with federal health agencies, has announced steps to address several potent substances related to kratom, including products containing elevated levels of 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). These actions reflect growing national concerns about the risks associated with highly concentrated and synthetic kratom products and highlight the importance of awareness, education, and prevention efforts in our communities.
